Unlike all the other gods and religious heroes of false religions, the true God is a God Who saves sinners. No clearer is this stated that in Titus 3.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:3-7

God saves sinners. God saves sinners by making sinners righteous (“justifies”) by the grace of Jesus Christ. That is why Jesus is called “our Saviour”.

In fact, Saviour is the very definition of the name “Jesus”. When Joseph was told about Mary’s conception of Jesus, he was specifically told to name the baby “Jesus” because “he will save his people from their sins” (Matt 1:21).

Our God chooses to save, and our God accomplishes it all through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
