The Holy Spirit has the same qualities as God the Father and God the Son, including intellect (1 Cor 2:10-13), emotions (Eph 4:30), will (1 Cor 12:11), being everywhere present (Ps 139:7-10), eternal (Heb 9:14), all-knowing (Isa 40:13-14), all-powerful (Rom 15:13), and truthful (Joh 16:13).
The Holy Spirit revealed God’s mind to the authors of Scripture (2 Pet 1:20-21; 1 Cor 2:11-12).
The Holy Spirit causes the new birth in us (John 3:5-7) baptising us spiritually into Christ’s body, the Church (1 Cor 12:13).
The Holy Spirit gives individual believers spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12:11).
We are obliged to walk by the Spirit, manifesting the fruit of the Spirit and not give in to the desires of our flesh (Gal 5:16; Eph 5:18).
