The Children’s Sunday School song of “Read Your Bible, Pray Every Day” echoes a truth about Christianity as basic as the ABC’s are to language.

Read your Bible, pray every day,
Pray every day, pray every day.

Read your Bible, pray every day,
And you will grow, grow, grow.

And you will grow, grow, grow.
And you will grow, grow, gro-o-o-ow.

Read your Bible, pray everyday,
And you will grow, grow, grow

Have you read your Bible today? Have you prayed?

If you want to follow some plan with your Bible reading, have a look for some guides under the Resources page. The point is not to read a set number of verses or minutes, but to read. So grab your Bible, read it, mark off what you read so you can read something else tomorrow again. The Lord has spoken; we get to read it!

If you need help praying, start with the basics—pour out your worries and concerns to the Lord. Attend the church prayer meetings. Pray quietly in your heart at first, but after a few visits, participate in public prayer. The Lord hears; the Lord cares, and you will grow.
