Psalm 47:1-9

PRAY
Heavenly Father.
You are worthy of praise!
We, your people are called to praise you. Let us do it with joy-filled hearts.
We are thankful O God.
For all you have done for us, may our shouts of praise be infectious to those around us.
You are most high and majestic, all-powerful and Holy and worthy of our praise.
You are King over all the earth, and you alone reign.
O God, we need reminding to praise you. Your Word does that.
Amen

MEDITATE

How powerful and praiseworthy is our God? You may be wondering. Look at the Exodus account, and you will see how powerful our God is. If you had to ask a military general about moving 2 million soldiers, to have them in the right place at the right time to fight a battle or battles, he would tell you that it is a logistic nightmare.

He will also tell you that it is about being prepared. God moved 2 million people, of which many were women and children. How prepared were they? All they were told was to have sandals on their feet and their cloak.

Did they give Him praise? No! they complained and wished they had never left, Egypt. Psalm 47 is a reminder to us that we must give praise to our God. In verse 6, it repeats four times that we are to give God praise.

Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

Psalm 47:6

For every passage from God’s Word that you read, pray according to it, and write out a short meditation through the themes of the passage to share with one another.

The example above was done by a member of our church, and is a model of what all of us can do before the Lord and for one another.
