By The book of Proverbs equates wisdom to the fear of the LORD (Proverbs 9:10-11; 14:26-27; 28:14; 23:17). Before any wisdom will be had in all the various topics of life, a man or woman who wishes to be wise will need to first be wise in his or her relationship to the LORD.
This is accomplished first by walking in God’s ways (Proverbs 10:29; 16:7). This simply means being obedient as a way of life.
Second, a wise way to relate to the LORD, is to trust Him (Proverbs 3:5-6; 22:29).
Third, it is no secret that to be wise to the LORD includes respecting what He says. The wise toward God are those who take Scripture seriously (Proverbs 16:20; 19:16; 30:5).
Lastly, a wise approach to the LORD is the approach of repenting of your sins promptly at all times (Proverbs 28:13).
These are a little starter pack on wisdom in your approach to the LORD.
Stating them all negatively, we could equally well say that wise people do not live as though God does not exists, they do not take disobedience to God lightly, they do not trust in anything more than in God, and they do not ignore or neglect Bible study.
