By Death is inevitable ever since sin entered the world in Genesis 3. On the other end of God’s revelation to man, we read this:
… Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. … The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.’
Revelation 2:10-11 (ESV)
We will all die, but we will not be hurt by the second death. We, as Christians, are tasked with staying faithful to God until death. Then, Jesus will give us the crown of life. By winning the daily battles in this life, we conquer the world and gain eternal life.
May it be said at the end of our lives, that we loved God and neighbour, exhibited the fruit of the Holy Spirit, fought sin each day, and stayed faithful to the very end. May the Lord make this true of us!
