Singing is an obvious expression of worship for the Christian. One of the closing psalms in the Psalter is not only an expression of glad praises of God, but is also a call to be glad in the Lord and express that joy in praise.

Praise the LORD!
Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the godly!
Let Israel be glad in his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!

Psalm 149:1-3

You might think it a little presumptuous to enter the Almighty Holy God’s presence with spontaneous and loud singing, but “the LORD takes pleasure in his people” (verse 4).

If you have been redeemed by the Son of God, then there is no more condemnation, only pleasing communion. So make much of your God today. Sing his praises till the whole world hears.
