By Andrew was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. He is best known through his more vocal brother, Peter. He was a fisherman along with another set of brothers, James and John, before the Lord called him.
The few times Andrew is mentioned in the Gospel accounts, we find him bringing people to Jesus. God used John the Baptist to introduce Andrew to Jesus, but then God used Andrew as the instrument to bring Peter to Christ (John 1:40-42)
Later, when the crowd needed feeding, it was Andrew who brought the young lad with the two fish and five loaves of bread to Jesus (John 6:8-9). Andrew knew it wouldn’t be enough, but nonetheless did the most sensible thing by bringing what little there was to Jesus for His attention.
One day during Jesus ministry to the Jews, a group of Greeks wanted to see Jesus. They approached Philip about the possibility of it, and Philip knew to ask Andrew for advice. Andrew wasted no time and, with Philip alongside him, told Jesus about it (John 12:20-22).
Andrew loved the Lord and followed Christ. He took the initiative in time of need to bring the whole situation to Jesus attention. He knew that all men are welcomed by Jesus and wanted them to know that Jesus was indeed the promised saviour of the world.
You might not be the famous personality in service to Christ like Peter was, but even Peter needed to be told about Jesus. The most noble thing any man or woman can ever do is to bring people to Jesus through the Gospel, and to bring the trials of life to Jesus through prayer.
