Christmas cheer is perhaps the peak of Christian calendar joys; and with good reason. It is impossible to miss. Joy is the attitude of Elizabeth’s greeting (Luke 1:55), Mary’s song (Luke 1:47), the angel’s declaration (Luke 2:10), and that of the wise men’s pursuit (Matthew 2:10).
Rejoice, all saints, in the birth of Jesus! Sing, shout, celebrate! Become the voice of God to this world proclaiming the Saviour’s birth. There is no greater message, no greater joy.
As you deck the table for the Christmas meal, do so with the joy of the Lord in your heart. Recount the Christmas story with excited zeal. Speak to your family, phone a friend, greet a stranger, and let them know the self-humbling of your Saviour that your soul may be exalted to heavenly joys.
