By It is not secret in Scripture that love is the fulfilment of God’s law. Moses gave the singular purpose of the Law to the Israelites already as “to love the LORD” in fullness (Deut 10:12). Jesus set a law-expert straight when He stated that all the Law and Prophets depend on the commandments to “Love the Lord your God and love your neighbour” (Matt 22:34-40). A discerning scribe understood the insight of Jesus’ words that “there is no other commandment greater than that of love God and love neighbour” (Mark 12:28-34). The Apostle Paul confirmed that the interpersonal commandments in the Scriptures are all summed up as “Love your neighbour” (Rom 13:8-10). To those who had misused the Law of God Paul wrote that the law is fulfilled in one word “Love!” (Gal 5:14). James encourages you with doing well as a Christian if you fulfil God’s law by “loving your neighbour” (James 2:8).
If you want to know if you obeyed God in your most recent interaction with another person, ask yourself “Did what I say and do demonstrate love to that person?” To answer this accurately, have a look at
1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

To keep God’s law, there is only one question to ask yourself “Am I going to demonstrate clear love for God and others?”
