By As a pastor and teacher I love Question & Answer sessions. The teacher in me loves to share knowledge that I might have learned from my studies that is not commonly known, and the pastor in me wants to know the questions that each one has, because it helps me minister to each in ways I would otherwise not necessarily think about. It is by asking questions that I’ve started to see where the gaps in my knowledge and understanding are. It is by asking questions that those gaps have been filled with not only answers that satisfy my curiosity, but with answers that are true and often stir up a series of further questions which then results into an ever asking, ever learning, spiral of growth.
Curiosity about God and His Word is crucially important if we are to grow upon what we currently know. As those exposed to the Holy Scriptures, we realise the necessity of the humility of seeking for answers to our questions. God gave us teachers for that very purpose. Sure, we need always to measure what the best of teachers say to the Scriptures (1 Thess 5:19-22; Acts 17:11), but it does not negate our dependence on our God-given teachers (Eph 4:11-12; Heb 13:7).
We must therefore excel in learning. Proverbs repeatedly calls us to the wisdom of seeking for wisdom and knowledge, and repeated communicates that call through the instruction to listen to those who are teaching. This lesson throughout Proverbs is already stated plainly in the opening verses.
Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.Proverbs 1:5-6 (ESV)
Practically then, since we are removed in person from one another during the national lockdown, we will be having our own Q&A this week culminating in the Easter weekend. Normally this coming weekend would be extra busy because of the normal church and family obligations, but since the busyness will be so restricted this year, we can use this weekend to devote ourselves a little more exclusively to the spiritual pursuits of the Easter long-weekend.

Questions can be posted to the pastor over the next few days using WhatsApp, SMS (071-160-2047), email (), facebook, or right here on our homepage. Depending on the question, the answer will be posted as a brief text message, a short voice note, a devotional post, or a full article.
The questions should all be questions from your own heart, and can range from questions about dealing with the worries of this life, to questions about theological topics or questions about a particular verse in the Bible.
The answers will be communicated over the course of the weekend on this website, our facebook page, and on the LHBC Lockdown WhatsApp group (to join, send me a message or click to join).
May the Lord use this to minister to our souls and increase our knowledge of Him and His will for us on this earth.
