Responses to Jesus’ Birth

Christmas is all about Jesus Christ, come to save sinners from the wrath of God (1 Thess 1:10 … and He’ll come again!).

It is the various responses to the human birth of Jesus that reminds us to focus on Jesus Christ.

Take some time this Christmas season to review the responses of the following people. Imitate them in your worship of Jesus Christ this week.

1. Mary (Luke 1: 38, 46-55)
2. Elizabeth (Luke 1:42-45)
3. Wise men (not necessarily three!) (Matt 2:2, 9-12)
4. Shepherds (Luke 2:8-20)
5. Simeon (Luke 2:25-35)
6. Anna (Luke 2:36-38)

And don’t forget Herod … be careful of adopting his responses! (Matt 2:3-7, 13, 16-18)
