As Christians we ought to see ourselves first and foremost as a manager under God (1 Corinthians 4:1). God has given us our lives, our gifts, our salvation, and our hope. The most basic requirement on us as managers of all the things given us by God is to be faithful.

Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

1 Corinthians 4:2

To be faithful before God is to fear God more than man (1 Corinthians 4:4), to serve humbly knowing we are simply managers of gifts given to us (1 Corinthians 4:7), and to see ourselves as instruments to serve another, not bless ourselves (1 Corinthians 4:10-13)

Proverbs 3:1-4 lists loyal love and faithfulness to God’s teaching and commandments as the ingredients that produce the success in life we truly desire. It continues in Proverbs 3:5 by calling us to trust God and distrust self.

Will Christ find you faithful to Him when He comes?
