Perhaps the most expressive verse on a believer’s spiritual growth is 2 Corinthians 3:18

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18

What is your current spiritual trajectory? More and more into despair, and sin, and resentment, and worry, and depression, and fear? Or from one degree of glory to another?

A trajectory marked by sin and the consequences of sin is a the default trajectory of this world. But a trajectory marked by transformation into Christ-likeness is the trajectory of a person who has the Holy Spirit.

There is no middle ground. Either you pursue what you desire, or your pursue what the Holy Spirit desires—these two desires are incompatible with each other (Gal 5:17). Subsequently your trajectory in life will either be the extraordinary fruit of the Spirit, or the ordinary works of the flesh (Gal 5:19-21 VS Gal 5:22-23).
