One of the basic things every believer understands is that God’s will is better than our own. We believe that God knows better than us, that God is wiser than us, and that God’s plans are always better. Therefore believers can often be heard praying “Thy will be done” imitating the example of our Lord Himself (Luke 22:42).
Scripture gives us the mind of God, and through it, our prayers are directed to true will-of-God prayer items. Here are nine of the most obvious will-of-God prayer items to add to your prayers today.
- Salvation of souls (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
- Spiritual growth (2 Thessalonians 1:3)
- Holiness (Jude 20, 24)
- Forgiveness of sins (Luke 11:4; 1 John 1:9)
- Understanding Scripture (Colossians 1:9)
- Wisdom to handle life’s problems (James 1:5)
- Contentment (1 Timothy 6:6; Hebrews 13:5-6)
- Daily bread (Matthew 6:11)
- All the things that weigh heavy on your heart (1 Peter 5:6-7)
Imagine a world where these prayers are answered not only for all believers, but also for those who have not yet bowed the knee before Jesus! Let’s be constant in these prayers (Col 4:2).
