By Mankind is good at messing things up. Adam was the responsible one for messing up even the Garden of Eden! We all tend to do the same. We turn perfection into chaos, and make bad circumstances even worse with our sinful responses. But, as Christians, each of us have the ability by the Spirit of God to clean things up again.
Which is true of you up to today? Has your existence in this time period of history, made things worse, or better? Does your contribution to the different relationships that you have, make the relationship more, or less, enjoyable? Do you take more from this world than you contribute, or do you offer more to this world than you consume?
Are you the stereotypical unregenerate person, wild at heart, flexing your rights to the world? Does Isaiah 10:12-13 describe your attitude, if not also your actions in this life? Judas was one such person, and the commentary on his life is given in Mark 14:21 “It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.“
Or are you a specimen of the redeemed God-fearing person with the sensibility to redeem everything around you to God’s glory (1 Corinthians 10:31)? Proverbs 16:7 is one of the many verses offering a commentary on the God-pleaser.
When a man’s ways please the LORD,
he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Seek to conform every thought, word, and deed to God’s glory, and you will have a wonderful impact on even your enemies – God will see to it.
