By It is perhaps most common with the Apostle Paul, but Scripture is full of sentences and paragraphs that are so long that you find yourself so absorbed in the details that you forget the main point. A useful tip when reading those passages is to strip away most of the details to see what remains as the main idea. Here are some examples
Go read Ephesians 2:1-10 which is indeed one long statement. Keeping just the main parts, it reads like this:
You were dead in the trespasses and sins, but God made us alive together with Christ and raised us up with him, and seated us with him, so that he might show his grace toward us.
The same with 2 Corinthians 6:3-10
We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way.
This useful tip of keeping just the main idea is helpful in even the shorter verses. Take for example Philippians 4:8 where the main point is simply “think about these things” and the rest of the long verse is the list of “these things“.
